The Challenge Feature

Create your own company challenges independently via the WLP back office.

To promote the health of your employees, you can create various challenges directly in the WLP back office — in the areas of steps, training, knowledge, and mindfulness.

Important:

  • Team challenges and bike challenges are currently not part of the challnge feature. If you would like to plan such formats, please contact our WLP customer service. Further information can be found at the bottom of the page and in the team challenges article.
  • A challenge should be created at least 3 weeks before the challenge starts
  • No changes can be made 15 days before the start of the challenge, as communication about the challenge is released in the system at this point. However, the challenge can still be edited in the back office before the 15 days are up. So please plan your challenge early enough!
  • You can create one challenge for the company per quarter.

1. Activity type: Select challenge type

First, choose the area in which you want to start a challenge:

Steps

→ You can easily collect steps with your smartphone, but please note the limit of 40,000 steps (approx. 25 km) per day.

Workouts

→ You choose your own workouts from the app; you receive points for each completed session.

Knowledge

→ You can freely choose which knowledge modules you want to complete in the WLP app—you receive points for each completed module.

Mindfulness

→ You can freely choose which mindfulness modules you want to complete in the WLP app—you receive points for each completed module.

Combining different challenge modes is not possible!

2. Type of Challenge

Determine the mode for your challenge:

Competition:

→ Everyone competes against everyone else, and a winner is chosen from all participants. The top-ranked participants will appear in the app within 24 hours of the challenge ending. Note: You must have participated in a challenge yourself to see its results!

Collective:

→ As a team, you try to achieve a shared goal that you define beforehand.

→ As a basis for setting a realistic goal for step challenges, we suggest the following: 7,500 steps per employee per day, with an average participation rate of 40%.

Achievement:

→ Everyone individually pursues a defined daily goal.

Then select the image that best suits your challenge.

3. Challenge Details

Enrich your challenge with individual content:

- Challenge Title: To help your employees easily identify the company challenge, place the company name at the beginning, e.g., Company Name Steps Challenge

- Challenge Description: Ideally, your challenge description should include the following: the goal, prizes or other incentives, expectations, and requirements. Remember to write an engaging and motivating description to increase participation.

- Define the Timeframe: Choose a quarter and then set your start and end dates (recommended: 2 weeks).

Example Challenge Description:

“The countdown is on – the (Company Name) Steps Challenge is approaching!

In just one week, it finally begins: Our exciting steps challenge starts!

We'll challenge each other to collect as many steps as possible – whoever takes the

most steps wins! Let's rock this challenge!”

Communication takes place automatically 7 days (news & push notifications) before the start, as well as on the start and end dates.

4. Managing Challenges

After creating a challenge, you'll find it in an overview list:

Ongoing Challenges

- Date

- Status (Published/Upcoming)

- Participants (displayed once 5 people are actively participating)

- Option to edit or delete

Completed Challenges

More information about team and cycling challenges

Also read the article about team challenges.

To request a team or cycling challenge, simply click the "Need support?" button in the back office and select the "Challenge Request" category in the form. Please allow approximately two weeks for processing, so plan your challenge well in advance!

For cycling challenges, every minute you spend on your bike is counted – please note the limit of 240 minutes per day. Even for cycling challenges with a shared goal, the challenge goal should be specified in minutes, not kilometers covered!
